New York-based generative AI platform Acai Travel has announced that it has secured a minority investment from Amadeus Ventures, the venture capital arm of global travel technology giant Amadeus. The investment amount was not disclosed. Acai Travel, founded in 2023, specializes in providing AI-driven operational optimization tools for travel management companies (TMCs) and online travel agencies (OTAs). The company claims that its solutions have already helped clients reduce average handling times by 50%.
The investment from Amadeus Ventures is part of Amadeus’s broader strategy to enhance its AI capabilities and support innovation in the travel sector. Acai Travel plans to use the new funding to further enhance its automation capabilities and improve user experience. The company’s client base includes well-known travel industry players such as Kiwi.com, Lastminute.com, Globespan, and Hopper.
This strategic investment is expected to accelerate the adoption of AI technologies in travel operations, enabling more efficient and cost-effective solutions for travel companies. Acai Travel’s AI-driven tools, including AI Helpers, GDS Overlay, AI Translation, and Intelligent Routing, are designed to streamline operations and enhance the overall travel experience for both agents and travelers.
