On June 8, the “Tashi Delek, Tibet, China” 2025 International Travel Agents Inbound Tourism Cooperation Negotiation Conference, supported by the Bureau of International Exchanges and Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Tibet Autonomous Region, was held in Lhasa.
During the conference, nearly a hundred travel agents from 17 countries, as well as those from Hong Kong and Macau, China, engaged in cooperation negotiations with over twenty local travel agents in the Tibet Autonomous Region. The aim is to further boost the cooperation between international travel agents and domestic tourism enterprises, and enhance the quality and influence of China’s inbound tourism.
Zheng Hao, a first – class inspector of the Bureau of International Exchanges and Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, stated in his speech that tourism is not only a crucial driver for economic development but also a bridge for people – to – people bonds. Through tourism, different countries and cultures can deeply communicate and learn from each other. Tibet is rich in natural and cultural heritages. The grandeur of Mount Qomolangma, the tranquility of Yamdrok Lake, the red walls and golden roofs of the Potala Palace, and the morning bells and evening drums of Tashilhunpo Monastery have all been captivating travel enthusiasts worldwide. He also said that the Bureau has always been committed to building an open and win – win tourism exchange platform. Inviting international travel agents to Tibet for on – site inspections is to leverage their professional perspectives and rich experience to tap into the market potential of Tibet’s cultural and tourism resources, innovate and enrich inbound tourism products, create high – quality inbound tourism routes with international influence and competitiveness, and enable the world to better appreciate the unique charm of Tibet, China.
Xiao Chuanjiang, the deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region Party Committee and the Party secretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Tibet Autonomous Region, said that as an “important world tourism destination,” Tibet’s nature and culture complement each other. In recent years, the cultural and tourism industry has become a strategic pillar and a livelihood – improving industry in Tibet. Adhering to the concept of “tourism promotes exchanges,” Tibet has continuously optimized international tourism services, from payment facilitation and transportation infrastructure upgrades to innovative special – themed routes. This event focuses on expanding the international market, promoting product implementation, and strengthening brand communication.
