In his speech, Vice Governor Song Junji introduced Shandong’s economic and social development, promoted its time-honored history, splendid culture, and rich tourism resources, and proposed three initiatives: leveraging new cooperation platforms, expanding new frontiers of tourism collaboration, and elevating cultural exchanges to new heights, expressing the hope for deeper cultural and tourism cooperation between Shandong and Kazakhstan.
Consul General Jiang Wei highlighted that China and Kazakhstan are good neighbors and mutually beneficial partners. Under the tourism year framework, governments and tourism departments have actively implemented the heads of state’s consensus, boosting exchanges through exhibitions, promotion conferences, and forums. The event enhanced Kazakhstanis’ understanding of Shandong and unlocked cooperation opportunities.
Deputy Mayor Abdikadrov welcomed the Shandong delegation, noting Almaty’s role as a tourism and cultural hub and emphasizing the promotion conference as a key step for mutual learning and cooperation. Wang Bingchun, Deputy Director of Shandong’s Culture and Tourism Department, delivered a tourism promotion featuring three stories to showcase Shandong’s landscapes, culture, and services.
The conference unfolded in four chapters—Origins and Harmony, Civilizational Mutual Learning, Heartfelt Invitation, and SCO Bond. Cooperation agreements were signed between Shandong’s cultural institutions and Kazakh counterparts, alongside tourist transportation deals. The short video I’m Doing Well in Shandong, told through the lens of Kazakhs living in Shandong, sparked strong interest, while performances like the Chinese-Kazakh musical ensemble Horse Racing and sand painting show added artistic flair, presenting a multi-dimensional display of bilateral friendship and collaborative achievements.
