The latest edition of Arival 360, held in Valencia, Spain from April 28 to 30, spotlighted how changing demographics and digital habits in the Asia-Pacific region are transforming travel decision-making.
Experts at the event noted that by the end of 2025, Millennials and Gen Z will make up about 50% of travelers in the region. Of this group, 70% rely heavily on social media to plan their trips. These shifts are reshaping how destinations and experiences are marketed.
The rise of artificial intelligence and evolving generational preferences are also driving change in the region’s travel industry, according to speakers at the conference.
Wilfred Fan, Chief Commercial Officer of Klook Travel Technology, shared that 84% of Klook users are planning long-haul travel in 2025, with South Korea now the region’s largest source market.
Grace Qi, head of global partnerships and distribution for attractions and tours at Trip.com, added that France remains the most popular European destination on their platform. This trend highlights Europe’s continued appeal to travelers from Asia.
