Agoda, a leading digital travel platform, has renewed its partnership with Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism in a move to further promote travel to one of Asia’s most captivating destinations. The renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) represents an expanded collaboration, focusing on increasing both international and domestic tourism, while leveraging Agoda’s world-class technology to support Indonesia’s ambitious “Tourism 4.0” initiative.
Tourism 4.0 aims to foster the growth of the tourism sector through innovative, technology-driven approaches. As part of the partnership, Agoda will help Indonesia strengthen its tourism industry by promoting more sustainable tourism practices and enhancing digital skills for the country’s emerging tourism professionals.
Over the next three years, the collaboration will include a variety of initiatives designed to increase tourism and support Indonesia’s digital transformation. This includes targeted marketing campaigns to attract visitors, alongside efforts to incorporate more sustainable tourism practices.
A key highlight of the renewed partnership is the launch of the Agoda Academy, where Agoda hosted its first-ever workshop for students at Bandung Tourism Polytechnic. The half-day workshop provided students with an in-depth look into Agoda’s work culture, as well as practical case studies and operational insights. This hands-on approach aims to equip Indonesia’s future tourism leaders with valuable digital tourism skills, preparing them for the evolving demands of the industry.
This expanded collaboration highlights Agoda’s commitment to promoting responsible tourism and supporting Indonesia’s tourism professionals in a rapidly changing digital world, paving the way for a more sustainable and tech-driven tourism experience.
