Beaches Resorts Expands Across the Caribbean Amid Multigenerational Travel Boom
As multigenerational travel gains significant momentum, Beaches Resorts, the family-oriented brand of Sandals Resorts International, is embarking on an ambitious expansion across the Caribbean, redefining the all-inclusive family vacation experience.
Skift Research indicates that 31% of travelers are interested in multigenerational trips involving parents, in-laws, and children. Additionally, IPX1031’s survey shows 57% of Americans plan lengthier vacations in 2025, reflecting a shift towards more immersive family getaways. With rising costs and economic uncertainty, premium all-inclusive resorts are in a prime position to thrive, as evidenced by Hotels.com’s 60% year – over – year increase in “all-inclusive” searches.
Beaches Resorts is responding to this demand with a near $1 billion investment in the Caribbean. For Executive Chairman Adam Stewart, growth is about creating spaces that enable families to relax and reconnect. “We’ve anticipated this trend for years, seeing Sandals guests return with successive generations,” he noted.
Since its establishment in 1997, Beaches Resorts has been dedicated to adapting Sandals’ all-inclusive model for families. The brand focuses on inclusive design, welcoming toddlers under two to kids’ camps at no extra cost, and earning autism certification with sensory-friendly amenities. Its layout ensures accessibility for the elderly while separating quiet and active zones.
The expansion plan features five major projects. Beaches Barbados offers a vibrant “Main Street,” Beaches Exuma provides multi-bedroom villas, and Beaches Runaway Bay caters to extended families. The Treasure Beach Village in Turks & Caicos adds new suites and a food hall, and Beaches Negril is set to expand further. As Stewart said, “The Caribbean is at its best, and our expansion meets families’ evolving needs.”
