by Mary

Despite earlier concerns of a major drop in international travel to the United States, new figures show a rebound in April. According to data from the U.S. Government’s International Trade Administration, the country saw an 8% increase in overseas visitors compared to the same month last year.

Around 3.05 million international travelers—excluding visitors from Canada and Mexico—arrived in the U.S. in April 2025. This is up from 2.82 million in April 2024 and marks a turnaround after two months of decline.

The trend reflects global growth in international travel, with Australian arrivals also showing an 8% increase. A total of 89,363 Australians visited the U.S. in April, compared to 88,495 the year before.

The latest numbers offer cautious optimism for the U.S. travel industry, which has been watching closely for signs of sustained recovery amid mixed global conditions.
