China Eastern Airlines has announced that starting from June 5th, 2025, it will adjust the fuel surcharge standards for domestic flights. For flights with a distance of 800 kilometers (inclusive) or less, the fuel surcharge will be waived. For flights longer than 800 kilometers, a fuel surcharge of 10 RMB per passenger will be applied.
Flights under 800km: No fuel surcharge will be applied.
Flights over 800km: A fuel surcharge of 10 RMB per passenger will be applied.
Special Groups: Infants who enjoy 10% of the adult fare, children (including unaccompanied children), revolutionary disabled soldiers, and disabled people’s police officers who purchase tickets at 50% of the adult fare will continue to be exempt from fuel surcharges.
This adjustment is expected to reduce travel costs for short-haul passengers and also lower the fees for longer routes. The new policy will take effect for tickets sold on or after June 5th, 2025.
