In 2025, Thailand made a major move to promote sustainable tourism. The Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) 2025 earned Carbon Neutral Event Self Declaration status. The event took place from June 4 to 6 at the Royal Park Rajapruek in Chiang Mai. This achievement sets a new standard for sustainable tourism trade events in Asia and worldwide.
It shows Thailand’s strong commitment to protecting the environment. It also highlights Thailand’s leadership in the global tourism industry, which is focusing more on reducing carbon footprints.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the organizer of the event, has long made sustainable tourism a key part of its strategy.
TAT’s Governor, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, said that sustainability is central to TAT’s mission. She explained that TTM+ 2025 is more than just a platform for international tourism business. It also reflects TAT’s dedication to responsible tourism. The carbon neutral event declaration is a clear example of this commitment.
It shows how Thailand wants to include sustainable practices in all areas of tourism development.
