Fiji Airports has signed a three-year agreement with the Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service (TSLS) to improve access to public services at Nadi International Airport.
The deal includes installing digital screens that show travel clearance messages at key departure points. It also introduces two self-service kiosks near the International Arrivals Concourse. These kiosks help bonded graduates and sponsored students quickly remove their guarantors from records after arriving in Fiji.
Mesake Nawari, CEO of Fiji Airports, said the partnership will increase service accessibility and raise awareness of TSLS offerings. He added that placing these kiosks in visible locations makes it easier for travelers to access TSLS services both physically and digitally.
TSLS CEO Dr. Hasmukh Lal emphasized the value of smooth, automated processes. He explained that the partnership supports faster clearance, with immigration officers now able to access approvals digitally. He warned that travelers who ignore clearance reminders before security will be responsible for any delays.
Dr. Lal said the kiosks will help sponsored students and bonded graduates delist their travel guarantors after returning to Fiji. He noted that students must provide two guarantors when traveling and notify TSLS upon their return. Failure to do so can cause travel problems for guarantors, who may be stopped at the airport.
“This kiosk will prevent such issues by allowing travelers to clear guarantor names immediately upon arrival,” Dr. Lal added.
