Netflix’s “The Four Seasons” shines a spotlight on the charming small towns and scenic landscapes of Upstate New York, allowing fans to recreate the seasonal getaways featured in the series. Throughout the eight-episode series, three couples—Kate (Tina Fey) and Jack (Will Forte), Nick (Steve Carell) and Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver), and Danny (Colman Domingo) and Claude (Marco Calvani)—embark on vacations each season, facing relationship challenges and humorous travel mishaps along the way.
Viewers are taken on a tour of the Hudson Valley’s natural wonders and idyllic towns, with the exception of the summer trip, which was filmed in Puerto Rico. Location manager Matt Lamb shared insights with PEOPLE about the real-life locations used in the series.
Cold Spring, New York
During a spring vacation, the characters explore Main Street and visit the Apothecary, which is actually the Cold Spring General Store. The town, nestled along the Hudson River, offers scenic hikes like the Washburn Trail, which provides stunning views of the river. Lamb described Cold Spring as a “gem of a location” and a charming place to visit year-round.
Beacon, New York
Beacon transforms into a college town in the fall episodes. The Vinyl Room, a real restaurant and bar doubling as a record shop, serves as a backdrop for a scene where Claude and Jack bond over records. Fans can visit the location to enjoy drinks, food, and browse through its collection of 2,500 records. The town is best visited in late October for peak fall foliage.
Mount Peter, Warwick, New York
Mount Peter is the setting for the group’s winter trip. The modest ski area, which first opened in 1936, is the oldest operating ski area in New York State and one of the few remaining family-operated ski areas in the country. It offers 13 trails and free skiing and snowboarding lessons for beginners. The crew chose Mount Peter for its early snow availability, with the resort even making snow for the filming.
Puerto Rico
The summer episodes feature a glamping trip, with Danny and Claude sneaking off to the luxurious El Conquistador Resort. The resort, located on the eastern point of the island, offers views of the Atlantic Ocean, access to the private Palomino Island, and amenities like the Coqui Water Park and an 18-hole golf course. Nearby Luquillo Beach was the location for beachside scenes, including Anne’s surfing adventure.
Fans of “The Four Seasons” can visit these real-life locations to experience the same charming towns, scenic landscapes, and adventurous activities featured in the series. All episodes are now streaming on Netflix.
