Currently, tourists from Russia and China can travel visa-free in groups of five or more. Over 1 million travelers are expected to use this option in 2024.
Now, the two countries are negotiating changes to ease travel further by allowing visa-free entry for groups as small as three people. Additionally, the allowed length of stay under visa-free conditions would be extended by 50%.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Dmitry Vakhrukov, confirmed these proposals are under active discussion with the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, signaling closer tourism cooperation between the two nations.
