Irish travelers were caught in the disruption following a massive power outage that struck Spain and Portugal, causing widespread travel chaos.
Several flights in and out of Dublin Airport were delayed or canceled due to the outage. Graeme McQueen, Media Relations Manager at DAA, explained, “A power outage in parts of Spain and Portugal continues to impact flight schedules across Europe, leading to delays and cancellations.”
As of 8 pm, a total of six inbound flights to Dublin Airport from Faro (x2), Lisbon (x2), Seville, and Alicante were canceled. Additionally, seven outbound flights to Faro (x2), Alicante, Madrid, Santiago, Marrakech, and Lisbon were also canceled.
Further disruptions are expected to continue into the evening and the following day. Passengers are advised to check directly with their airline for updates.
