The tourism season is officially underway in Anchorage, Alaska, as the Anchorage Travel Expo—formerly known as the Frontline Trade Show—welcomed locals and travel professionals to the Dena’ina Center this week.
With around 70 booths, the event celebrated Alaska’s rich offerings, from Alaska Railroad excursions to local hiking and biking adventures. Exhibitors shared insights, tips, and inspiration for travelers eager to explore the Last Frontier.
“I think this is big for a couple of reasons,” said Jack Boney of Visit Anchorage. “One, it makes sure we are providing excellent service to people who are coming up from the Lower 48 or from other countries, but really it’s to appreciate what is in our own backyards.”
The timing of the expo also aligned with National Travel and Tourism Week, which wraps up Saturday, further amplifying the momentum behind Alaska’s 2025 travel season.
Organizers and vendors alike expressed optimism for a strong summer, bolstered by renewed interest in outdoor travel and Alaska’s unique, wide-open destinations.
