Thailand’s Department of Business Development (DBD) has launched an upgraded digital business registration system, DBD Biz Regist, set to be fully operational online by July 2025. This significant advancement promises to streamline administrative processes, offering notable benefits to global travelers, especially those visiting Thailand for business purposes.
The new fully digital registration platform is designed to simplify and speed up business registration, reducing the need for physical presence and significantly cutting travel-related expenses. Travel experts highlight the advantages of this system for international visitors, noting that the ability to handle registration remotely will save time and eliminate the need for additional days spent in Thailand for bureaucratic tasks.
Mrs. Auramon Supthaweethum, the Director-General of the DBD, emphasized that the transition to a digital system is intended to reduce the burden on business travelers, particularly during busy periods. By eliminating unnecessary in-person visits to government offices, the system minimizes transportation and accommodation costs. Previously, travelers may have spent extra nights in Bangkok just to complete business registration; now, they can carry out these tasks remotely, significantly improving their travel efficiency and reducing overall travel expenses.
This digital leap is expected to enhance Thailand’s appeal as a business destination, offering a more convenient and cost-effective experience for international entrepreneurs and companies. The shift to an online-only registration system is also aligned with the country’s broader efforts to modernize and optimize its administrative infrastructure, providing both local and foreign businesses with enhanced convenience and flexibility.
