by Mary

A concerning security incident unfolded at Kolkata Airport when a 26-year-old passenger, traveling from Imphal, made a bomb threat just before boarding an IndiGo flight bound for Mumbai. The passenger reportedly told an airline security officer during the secondary-level security check that he was carrying a bomb, prompting immediate action by airport and airline authorities.

As a result of the threat, the flight, which had 186 passengers scheduled to depart, was delayed. The aircraft, with 179 passengers already boarded, was escorted to an isolation bay for a full security inspection. The plane was evacuated, and both the aircraft and the passenger’s belongings underwent thorough checks, in line with standard operating protocols.
