Wawa is set to open its first travel center designed specifically for truck traffic in Hope Mills, North Carolina, during the second quarter of 2025. Situated near Interstate 95 in a Fayetteville suburb, the 4,800-square-foot facility will feature six diesel lanes and offer free overnight parking for truckers, addressing growing demand for convenient truck stops in the region.
Simultaneously, Wawa marked its entry into Ohio in April 2025 with a new store and gas station in Liberty Township.
This expansion is part of an aggressive growth strategy targeting key markets, even as Wawa faces competition from United Dairy Farmers (UDF)—a beloved local convenience chain with 200 locations and a longstanding reputation for ice cream and milkshakes among Cincinnati residents.
