Airbnb is taking on the hotel and hospitality industry once again—this time with a major platform revamp and the rollout of Airbnb Services and Airbnb Experiences, a move that redefines how travelers engage with the brand.
With this expansion, Airbnb is no longer just about places to stay—you can now “Airbnb” more than just an Airbnb.
According to CEO and co-founder Brian Chesky, “With the launch of services and experiences, we’re changing travel again.”
Airbnb Services now offers on-demand amenities in 10 categories, including:
- Private chefs & catering
- Hair, makeup & nails
- Massage & spa treatments
- Personal training & photography
- Prepared meals
Access isn’t limited to Airbnb guests. Anyone, anywhere, can book these services—whether staying in an Airbnb or not.
This bold move places Airbnb in direct competition with hotels, cruise lines, and luxury resorts, offering a highly personalized, à la carte service ecosystem. It also positions the platform as a lifestyle hub—not just a travel booking site.
With this pivot, Airbnb is not just redesigning its app—it’s reimagining the travel experience.
