Valencia Airport reached a historic milestone in April 2025, surpassing one million passengers in a single month for the first time ever.
According to newly released data from Aena, Spain’s airport authority, the Manises terminal handled 1,039,789 passengers—an increase of 10% compared to April 2024.
The surge was largely driven by international travel, which accounted for nearly three-quarters of the total traffic. A total of 780,211 passengers traveled on international routes, up 13.4% year-over-year.
Italy led the list of international destinations, with 163,629 passengers flying between the two countries. This spike was partly due to the addition of Pescara to the summer schedule, which completed its first full month of operations in April.
While international traffic boomed, domestic growth remained modest. Just 256,899 travelers flew within Spain, marking a 0.7% increase from the same period last year. The slower growth in domestic numbers is likely due to the Easter holiday falling in March this year, which shifted peak domestic travel earlier in the season.
Valencia Airport’s April performance sets the stage for what could be a record-breaking year, reinforcing its position as a key player in Spain’s aviation network.
