During the 18th China Outbound Travel & Tourism Market, the Mongolian Tourism Organization, accompanied by over a dozen local travel enterprises, made a significant appearance. Yun Fei, the secretary – general of its China Market Branch, disclosed that the Mongolian government has designated 2023 – 2028 as the “Mongolia Tourism Years”, and is actively promoting cooperation with international travel platforms.
To boost tourism from China, Mongolia has optimized its visa policies. Chinese tourists now have multiple convenient options for obtaining visas. They can apply online through the electronic visa system “evisa. mn”, which has been operational since 2021 and has processed nearly 130,000 e – visas for foreigners, with a vast majority being Chinese. After submitting materials online, they can receive the e – visa within 48 hours. Additionally, Chinese tourists can also obtain visas upon arrival or apply through consulates.
These favorable visa policies, along with Mongolia’s rich nomadic culture, vast steppes, and unique festivals like the Naadam Festival, are expected to attract more Chinese tourists. The move not only strengthens the tourism cooperation between the two countries but also enriches the travel experiences of Chinese travelers, providing them with more opportunities to explore Mongolia’s magnificent landscapes and profound cultural heritage.
