Vietjet Soars Higher with Strong Profits and New International Routes

by Mary

Vietjet, the largest Vietnamese airline flying between Australia and Vietnam, reported record business results and shared plans for global expansion during its 2025 Annual General Meeting on May 30.

The airline, operated by Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, also outlined ambitious growth goals for the next 10 years. A key focus is expanding its flight network across the Asia-Pacific region. This includes the launch of a new international route, further boosting its global reach.

In 2024, Vietjet operated 137,500 flights and served more than 25.9 million passengers (not including Vietjet Thailand). Of these, over 9 million were international travelers — an 18% increase compared to the previous year. The airline also added 20 new routes last year, growing its total network to 145 routes: 101 international and 44 domestic.

Vietjet also became the first airline to offer direct flights between Vietnam and four major Australian cities — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth. It remains a leader in connecting Vietnam with key markets in Asia, including India, China, South Korea, and Japan.

The parent company earned VND71.734 trillion (about AU$4 billion) in revenue and made a pre-tax profit of VND1.748 trillion (about AU$103 million).

By the end of 2024, Vietjet’s total assets reached nearly VND99.3 trillion (around AU$5.85 billion). The company maintained solid financial health, with a debt-to-equity ratio of 2.03 and a liquidity ratio of 1.58 — both strong figures for the airline industry.
