As the summer travel season approaches, Chinese airlines are significantly expanding their international and regional networks to meet rising demand.
China Southern Airlines will launch several new direct flights this summer. Beginning June 16, a new route will connect Beijing to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, with two flights per week. On June 25, a new Guangzhou-Almaty (Kazakhstan) service will begin with three round trips per week, followed by the Guangzhou-Tashkent (Uzbekistan) route starting June 30, also operating three times weekly. Additionally, from July 1, the airline will launch a new direct flight from Harbin to Vladivostok, Russia, with two weekly round trips.
China Southern is also increasing frequencies on several popular routes.
Urumqi–Tbilisi (Georgia) will increase from four to seven weekly flights starting June 1.
Urumqi–Yerevan (Armenia) will grow from two to three flights per week on June 11.
Guangzhou–Brisbane (Australia) will rise from five to seven weekly flights starting June 12.
By mid-summer, China Southern aims to operate 2,000 weekly international and regional flights across 150 routes.
China Eastern Airlines is also growing its global presence. On June 24, the airline will inaugurate a new direct route from Xi’an to Istanbul, Turkey. This marks its second direct connection to Turkey, following the Shanghai–Istanbul service, and underscores the deepening aviation ties between the two nations.
