Scotland, the birthplace of Harry Potter and the rumored haunt of the Loch Ness Monster, was listed as one of the “Best Travel Destinations in 2024” by National Geographic Magazine and Lonely Planet. Now, direct flights from Beijing to Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, have been restored, making it more accessible for travelers.

On May 25, 2025, the Edinburgh Marathon took place. The event featured a full marathon starting at 10:00 am with a 6 – hour and 30 – minute cut – off time, and a half – marathon starting at 8:00 am with a 3 – hour and 15 – minute cut – off time. The route, starting from the University of Edinburgh, wound its way past iconic sites like the Greyfriars Bobby Statue, the Royal Mile, and Edinburgh Castle before reaching Pinkie Playing Fields. This course combined the beauty of nature with the grandeur of historical architecture, allowing runners to soak in Edinburgh’s unique charm while racing.

Beyond the marathon, Edinburgh offers a wealth of experiences. In August, tourists can enjoy the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. For those who love the outdoors, hiking in Holyrood Park, jogging along the Water of Leith, or relaxing on Cramond Beach are all great options, making Edinburgh a vibrant and magical destination all year round.
