The opening ceremony of the 2025 “China – Cambodia Tourism Year” and the special cultural performance titled “Charming Jiangsu – Colorful Cambodia” were held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Organized by China Travel Service Co., Ltd. (China Travel), the “China – Cambodia Tourism Year” 1,000 – person tour and the series of “People – to – People Envoy” groups simultaneously departed from Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Yunnan, aiming to explore Cambodia’s cultural heritage and regional landscapes in depth.
This event represents the implementation of the memorandum of cooperation signed between China Tourism Group and the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism in 2024, strengthening bilateral friendship and cooperation in tourism. Leveraging its resource – integration capabilities and product – innovation strengths, China Travel crafted exclusive tour packages, including the “Panoramic Cambodia Tour” and the “In – depth Phnom Penh – Angkor Twin – City Tour.” These tours guide visitors to historical landmarks like the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, the Independence Monument, and Wat Phnom, offering a blend of traditional and modern cityscapes. At the Angkor Archaeological Park, tourists can admire world – renowned heritage sites such as Angkor Thom and the Bayon Temple, experiencing the splendor of ancient Khmer architecture.
Taking this large – scale tour as a starting point, China Travel, as a central state – owned enterprise, plans to optimize tourism product offerings, innovate service models, and enhance marketing efforts. It will roll out more related tour packages, introduce customized small – group family tours, and develop themed specialty products to meet diverse tourist demands. In the future, China Travel aims to further deepen China – Cambodia tourism cooperation and cultural exchanges, attracting more Chinese tourists to Cambodia while promoting inbound tourism from Cambodia, thus driving the prosperity of the two – way tourism market.
