The high-speed bullet train connecting Varanasi and Howrah is set to transform travel across Eastern India. Aiming to cut travel time and improve comfort, the project is a major development in the country’s transport system. It is expected to boost local and national economies by improving access between two important cities and their surrounding regions.
As part of the plan, the train route will pass through parts of the Jagdishpur block in Bihar’s Bhojpur district. Several villages in this area will be affected by land acquisition needed for building the railway line and related infrastructure. These villages include Bhatauli, Bimwa, Chakwa, Dawa, Haridiya, Harigaon, Hetampur, Kataibojh, Kaura, Teer, Uttardaha, and Tulsi.
A detailed route map has been prepared showing exactly which land parcels are needed in each village. The District Magistrate of Bhojpur has issued a public notice to inform residents about the land acquisition process. The notice lists the types and sizes of land required and instructs officials to start marking the areas.
Both private and government-owned land will be acquired for the project. To ensure transparency, officials are conducting detailed surveys. These surveys collect information about landowners and help create a full report for the District Magistrate. A separate list of government-owned plots has also been made to speed up the process.
In addition to surveys, groundwork has started at the proposed construction sites. Officials are visiting the plots to assess the project’s impact and gather more data. This preparation will help construction begin without delays and reduce problems for affected landowners and nearby communities.
The early steps being taken now aim to ensure a smooth and fair process as this major infrastructure project moves forward.
