On May 7, 2025, it was officially announced that the Shanghai LEGO Resort, the largest of its kind globally, will open its doors to visitors on July 5, 2025. This news has sparked significant interest, as evidenced by a six-fold increase in real-time search on Meituan’s platform within just two hours of the announcement. The resort has also set up shop on Meituan and Dianping apps, where it has updated its opening information and attracted numerous users to share their visitation strategies.
During the recent May Day holiday, the search volume for the resort on Meituan surged by 155% compared to the week before the holiday. The majority of these searches, nearly 60%, were from parent-child families aged 30-40. Popular search terms included “park tickets” and “hotels near the park”.
The Shanghai LEGO Resort is tailored for parent-child families with children aged 2-12. It features eight themed areas, over 75 interactive rides, performances, and play attractions, as well as thousands of LEGO models made from over 85 million LEGO bricks. The resort is located in Jinshan District’s Fengjing Town and is conveniently accessible via the nearby Jinshan North Station, with high-speed trains reaching Shanghai Hongqiao Hub in just 18 minutes.
In preparation for the opening, the resort has completed the construction of its iconic entrance and is in the final stages of debugging its 24 core rides. The LEGO Hotel, which is part of the resort, has also been completed and handed over for operation. Additionally, the resort has launched “limited-edition opening commemorative annual cards” and “limited-edition hotel packages” that include trial operation tickets, with prices starting at 1399 yuan and 3588 yuan respectively.
