From May 19th to 23rd, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Department of Culture and Tourism hosted an inspection tour for European travel agents. Organized by the China Tourism Office in London, the delegation, comprising representatives from the UK, Ireland, Finland, Norway, and other European countries, conducted a five – day in – depth exploration of Guangxi. This tour aimed to showcase Guangxi’s unique cultural and tourism resources to the European tourism industry, deepen China – Europe cultural and tourism cooperation, and inject new vitality into the 2025 Guangxi Tourism Year.
Nandan: Where Ethnic Culture Meets Natural Wonders
The delegation entered Guangxi from Libo, Guizhou, and their first stop was Nandan County, Hechi City. At scenic spots like Yaowangtianxia, Dongtian Shengjing, and Dongtian Jiuhai, members experienced the stunning karst landscapes and the rich thousand – year – old wine culture. The warm traditional welcoming ceremonies by the Baiku Yao ethnic group highlighted the unique charm of Guangxi’s ethnic cultures.
Bama: Decoding the Secrets of a World – Famous Longevity Hub
The same evening, the delegation arrived in Bama, known as the “Hometown of Longevity.” A grand welcome ceremony was jointly held by the Guangxi Department of Culture and Tourism and the Bama Yao Autonomous County People’s Government, attended by senior officials. During the visit to Bama, the delegation explored attractions such as the Longevity Crystal Palace, Bainiaoyan, and Baimo Cave, and toured Cifu Lake and Longevity Island. The harmonious blend of beautiful landscapes, karst formations, and time – honored cultures left a deep impression.
Cross – border Dialogues: Shaping the Future of Inbound Tourism
Later, the delegation visited Detian Waterfall, Asia’s largest transnational waterfall, and explored Nanning’s Qingxiu Mountain. On May 22nd, the 2025 Guangxi Tourism Year Product Matching Meeting (European Session) was held in Nanning. Guangxi’s tourism representatives introduced themed travel routes, while European agents provided feedback on product improvement and marketing. Expressing strong interest, the delegation pledged to promote Guangxi’s tourism in Europe. Going forward, Guangxi will continue to implement inbound tourism promotion plans, leveraging its 240 – hour transit visa – free policy to attract more international visitors.
