The Badaling section of the Great Wall will begin daily nighttime operations starting this year’s May Day holiday, expanding from its previous weekend-only schedule. This change allows visitors consistent evening access to the illuminated “Radiant Dragon” spectacle along the ancient fortifications.
Through the “Great Wall & Beyond – iTravel Yanqing” tourism platform, Badaling Cultural Tourism Group will launch eight themed experiences during the holiday period. These include night tours, stargazing barbecues, family educational programs, and ecological excursions to showcase the region’s diverse attractions.
Complementing the Great Wall activities, Yanqing District will debut an immersive wetland theater production at Wild Duck Lake National Wetland Park while reopening its scenic Baihui Mountain Valley. The coordinated initiatives aim to provide comprehensive cultural and natural tourism options for holiday visitors.
