Local time on May 26, a serious car accident occurred to three Chinese tourists driving by themselves in Cefalù, Sicily, Italy. The accident took place between two vehicles.
The two passengers in the front seats of the vehicle suffered severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, while the one in the rear seat had minor injuries. Sadly, one of the seriously – injured tourists passed away. The family of the deceased said they would head to Italy as soon as possible to bring their loved one home.
Upon receiving the report, the Chinese Embassy in Italy immediately contacted the local police, informed the Consular Protection Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and arranged for nearby consular assistance volunteers to offer timely help at the accident scene and the hospital. Currently, the embassy is closely monitoring the situation, maintaining communication with all relevant parties, and working to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the victims. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the importance of travel safety for tourists abroad.
