The 5th Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM 2025) concluded successfully in Kathmandu, winning praise from the global tourism industry. The event took place from June 3rd to 5th at The Soaltee Kathmandu and brought together over 700 delegates from 30 countries. More than 100 international participants joined alongside many Nepalese tourism professionals.
Under the theme “Mountains, Milestones, and Momentum,” HTM 2025 celebrated the 50th anniversary of the PATA Nepal Chapter. It set new standards for international tourism cooperation and sustainable development. The event highlighted Nepal’s important role as the “Gateway to the Himalayas.”
Organized by the PATA Nepal Chapter with support from the Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines, and other partners, the event combined business meetings, networking, destination tours, knowledge sessions, and cultural shows. This mix gave tourism experts, policymakers, buyers, and sellers a valuable chance to connect and build partnerships to grow the industry.
The event was officially opened by Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey. In his speech, he celebrated both the 50th anniversary of PATA Nepal Chapter and the 75th anniversary of the first successful Mount Annapurna summit. The Minister stressed the government’s commitment to sustainable tourism and strong public-private cooperation. He also praised the Nepali cultural performances and said HTM is a key platform to promote tourism and protect Nepal’s heritage.
