Flourishing Sino-Malaysian Cultural and Tourism Exchanges Shine at Travel Fair

The second “Hello! China” Travel Fair, held from the 13th to the 15th in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, featured over 200 booths dedicated to cultural and tourism industries. Drawing thousands of visitors on its opening day, the fair buzzed with excitement. Liaoning Province was invited as the guest of honor, with a series of promotional events including the Liaoning Tourism Promotion Week. As the fifth-generation inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage “Shenyang Li’s Sugar Art Craftsmanship,” Li Fengyan demonstrated traditional sugar art techniques from Liaoshen region.

Supported by the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia and the Malaysia Tourism Council, guided by the China Cultural Center in Kuala Lumpur, and organized by the Malaysia-China Folklore, Culture & Tourism Chamber of Commerce, the fair also saw participation from multiple Chinese airlines. Zheng Xuefang, Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, noted at the opening ceremony that with China’s continuous relaxation of entry-exit policies, more international tourists are experiencing and falling in love with China.

Yang Soon Hin, representing the Malaysian Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, emphasized the growing cultural and tourism exchanges between the two countries. He pledged continuous support for future collaborations to foster a vibrant two-way tourism flow.

The fair showcased diverse travel packages, from “14-Day Silk Road Re-Tracing” to “7-Day Exploration of Liaoning’s Northern Scenery,” appealing to tourists with affordable prices. Liew Lee Neo, President of the Malaysia-China Folklore, Culture & Tourism Chamber of Commerce, highlighted exhibitors’ focus on high-quality, culturally immersive travel experiences.

Local Kuala Lumpur resident Harun, a seasoned traveler, praised China’s improved accessibility, efficient transportation, and modern amenities. Airlines noted the rising travel numbers between the two nations, fueled by visa-free policies and new flight routes. Visitor Hafiz expressed his eagerness to experience China’s advanced railway system, confident he’d find the perfect travel deal at the fair.
