Qantas is increasing flights between Australia and New Zealand, adding around 60,000 extra seats compared to last year. This gives travellers more options during the busy summer holiday season.
Between January 2025 and January 2026, Qantas will operate over 3.3 million seats across the Tasman Sea. This growth supports tourism in both countries.
Starting in August 2025, Qantas will introduce its Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the Auckland to Brisbane route. The new aircraft will offer Premium Economy, increasing premium seat availability by up to 80 percent.
Initially, the Dreamliner will fly three times a week, with daily services beginning in October 2025. This will be Qantas’ second use of the 787 Dreamliner between Australia and New Zealand, joining the Auckland-Sydney flights that connect to its New York service.
