At the 8th Hospitality Vietnam Conference, Mr. Gentzsch Andre, General Manager of the Ariyana Tourism Complex, shared valuable insights on the changing dynamics of the travel and hospitality industry. With oversight of top-tier properties like Furama Resort Danang, Furama Villas Danang, and Ariyana Beach Resort & Suites, Andre drew from extensive experience in managing diverse tourism operations in Vietnam.
Speaking on the topic “Meeting Modern Traveler Demands,” Andre noted that wellness and remote work are not new trends. Instead, he said, growing customer awareness is making these factors more important than ever. Travelers now frequently seek features like yoga classes, healthy meals, and Feng Shui-inspired room layouts. However, many are still reluctant to pay extra for such services. Andre believes this will gradually change over the next decade, with more guests willing to spend on personal well-being.
He also addressed the rise of remote work and its effect on travel patterns. While traditional business travelers have long been a focus, digital nomads are emerging as a new segment. These remote workers require strong internet and comfortable workspaces, but often lack the budget of corporate travelers. Andre suggested that resorts need to assess whether this group aligns with their brand and pricing strategy. Co-working spaces that function as cafés are proving to be an effective solution.
Sustainability remains a cornerstone of Ariyana’s approach. Andre presented two notable initiatives: a glass bottle water system supported by an in-house water plant, and electric transport to lower emissions. Additionally, he highlighted the Furama Farm project, which partners with the Co Tu ethnic community. The farm supplies fresh produce to hotel kitchens and provides stable employment for rural families. Guests can visit the farm, creating a tourism experience that blends social impact with sustainability.
Andre’s presentation offered a clear roadmap for the future of hospitality—one that prioritizes well-being, embraces flexible work lifestyles, and integrates sustainable practices at its core.
