In a bid to draw travelers from around the world, the Egyptian Tourism Authority recently announced a new strategic tourism project, the “Cairo City Roaming Plan”. This initiative not only offers in – depth exploration of historical sites but also includes rich cultural experiences and modern urban leisure pursuits.
Cairo, the capital of Egypt, is a city steeped in thousands of years of history. With the “Cairo City Roaming Plan”, tourists will have the chance to visit iconic landmarks such as the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx, and also explore lesser – known historical and cultural spots, like the ancient Coptic Christian sites in the city. They can enjoy traditional Egyptian music and dance performances, and savor local cuisine at bustling markets.
China is a significant source of tourists for Egypt. To attract more Chinese visitors, the Egyptian Tourism Authority has made great efforts. In July this year, the Shanghai Museum will host a grand exhibition of ancient Egyptian civilization. It’s the largest – scale and highest – level exhibition of ancient Egyptian cultural relics to go abroad in Asia. A total of 492 groups, 788 precious cultural relics from different periods of ancient Egypt will be on display, with over 95% of them making their debut in Asia for the first time.
Moreover, the official Egyptian tourism website has recently launched a Chinese – language version. At airports, hotels, and popular tourist attractions and museums in Egypt, including the pyramids and temples, Chinese – language signs have been installed. Additionally, Egypt implements a visa – on – arrival policy for Chinese tourists, providing all – round convenience for them.
These measures, along with the “Cairo City Roaming Plan”, are expected to boost the number of Chinese tourists to Egypt and further strengthen cultural and tourism exchanges between the two countries.
