A new survey by Travelsavers Canada reveals that rising travel costs and economic uncertainty are pushing more Canadians to consider vacations closer to home. Conducted between April 22 and May 9, the survey found that:
- 62% of travel advisors report cost of travel as the top concern among clients
- 46% cited unfavourable exchange rates
- 38% noted concerns about geopolitical instability
- 36% highlighted broader economic worries
Despite these challenges, Canadians are still prioritizing travel. “Even with economic and geopolitical concerns, Canadians are still prioritizing travel,” said Jane Clementino, SVP and GM of TRAVELSAVERS Canada.
This trend signals a shift toward domestic and value-driven travel experiences, as consumers seek meaningful getaways without the sticker shock of international trips.
