The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, in partnership with UN Tourism and several public and private organizations, hosted the Thailand Tourism Forum 2025 on May 7 in Bangkok. The event was held under the theme “Navigating Global Tourism Trends: Strengthening Thailand’s Tourism Industry.”
More than 500 participants attended both in person and online. Key speakers included Tourism and Sports Minister Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, Vice Minister Mr. Jakraphon Tangsutthitham, Minister Secretary Mr. Krisada Tanterdthit, Deputy Permanent Secretary Ms. Vanida Phansoad, Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, and Tourist Police Commissioner Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksira Pheuak-um. Attendees represented government agencies, the private sector, and international partners.
The forum served as a major platform to align Thailand’s tourism strategies with evolving global trends. Mr. Harry Hwang, Director of UN Tourism’s Regional Department for Asia and the Pacific, offered congratulations on behalf of the UN Tourism Secretary-General and expressed continued support for Thailand’s tourism sector.
Ms. Sandra Carvao, Director of Market Intelligence, Policies and Competitiveness at UN Tourism, delivered a keynote address titled “Global Tourism Trends and Directions: 2025–2030.” She outlined the major forces driving change in global travel, including new technologies, changing traveler behavior, and sustainability.
One of the forum’s key moments was a panel discussion titled “Shaping the Future of Tourism Platforms and the Road to 2030.” Experts explored how artificial intelligence is transforming travel worldwide—from how people plan trips to how tourism services are delivered and managed. The discussion focused on how Thailand can harness AI to adapt to these changes and stay competitive in the global market.
The forum marked a significant step in preparing Thailand’s tourism industry for the future while promoting collaboration between local and international stakeholders.
