The 39th International Travel Expo opened on Thursday, featuring about 500 exhibitors from over 60 countries and regions showcasing the latest tour routes and services. Over four days, the event will host more than 110 activities, including promotional programs, symposiums, and lectures.
New sections dedicated to Gen Z travelers and family travel aim to attract younger audiences and parents. Rosanna Law, Hong Kong’s Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, highlighted that tourist arrivals in the first five months rose 12% year-on-year to around 20 million, with an annual forecast of 49 million visitors—a 10% increase from the previous year.
The expo is open exclusively to tourism industry insiders for the first two days, then opens to the public, with an expected total attendance of about 70,000.
