Etiqa Insurance Singapore is stepping up to help customers affected by the upcoming shutdown of Jetstar Asia.
The insurer announced that eligible policyholders can submit claims for travel disruptions related to Jetstar Asia flights between July 11 and July 31, 2025. This is an exception, as airline closures are usually excluded from standard travel insurance policies.
Customers who bought single-trip or annual travel insurance before 8:00 a.m. on June 11, 2025, can claim for non-refundable travel costs. This includes pre-paid accommodation, local transport, and activities, subject to policy limits and proof of expenses.
To ease the process, Etiqa is extending the claims submission deadline from the usual 30 days to 90 days. This gives travellers more time to adjust plans and gather documents.
For those canceling their trips, reimbursements will cover eligible non-refundable bookings. Travellers who continue their trips after July 31, 2025, can claim up to $200 for fare differences when booking replacement flights.
Customers facing flight disruptions during this period may also claim under the Travel Delay Clause of their policy.
