Spokane International Airport (GEG) is poised for potentially its busiest summer ever, with a 13% increase in scheduled airline seats expected in June and July. Interim CEO Frank Miller noted that GEG is now among the busiest small-hub airports in the U.S.
The airport will offer over 8,500 departing seats daily during peak summer months, driven by expanded service to major hubs including Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. For Memorial Day weekend alone, departing seats are up nearly 18% compared to last year.
Travelers should anticipate busy periods, with over 4,000 passengers passing through security checkpoints daily between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. during peak travel times. Early arrival is recommended.
