Overseas Travel Agents Explore Hainan’s Tourism Landscape in 2025 Event

by jingji14

From June 8 to 10, international travel agents and global tourism organization members attending the 2025 Overseas Travel Agents Hainan Tour inspected Sanya’s tourism offerings, exploring themed routes focusing on water sports, luxury travel, local culture, and sustainable tourism to gain insights into Hainan’s unique resources and seek collaboration opportunities.

At Wuzhizhou Island on June 9, delegates toured the island by electric cart, marveling at its coastal scenery. They documented the landscape through photos and videos while learning about the island’s history, ecological resources, and safety measures for activities like diving and jet-skiing. The island’s balance of high-end resort development, ecological protection, and commercial operations left a deep impression, with guests chanting “So Beautiful!” during a group photo.

At Atlantis Sanya, a sister project to Dubai’s Atlantis, delegates explored its “one-stop” marine-themed entertainment model integrating a water park, aquarium, and luxury hotel. Impressed by the underwater suites and the resort’s “park+hotel+commercial” operation—with a 65% annual occupancy rate and over 50% non-room revenue—they noted its synergy between attractions as a benchmark for integrated resort development. Nepalese agent Roju praised Hainan’s improved infrastructure, while South Korean agent Lee Kwan-ho highlighted the island’s luxury hotels as key draws for his clients.

On June 10, visits to Hotel Indigo Sanya Haitang Bay showcased its sustainable design, using recycled materials like volcanic stones and abandoned ship wood, with 90% of restaurant ingredients sourced locally. Delegates also explored Houhai Village, a former fishing village turned “surfing utopia” with over 100 surf shops, noting its community-driven tourism model as a reference for other destinations.

The tour also included stops at Sanya Duty Free Shopping Complex, Sun Bay Park Hyatt, and the Sanya千古情 (Eternal Love) scenic area, where modern technology like holographic projection brings local culture to life. Irish journalist McGovern from The Dublin Gazette expressed amazement at Hainan’s development, surpassing many European destinations, while Russian agent Sergey Nazarov called for more direct flights to boost tourist flows. New Zealand China Travel Service’s General Manager Lee Rui Tai emphasized Hainan’s appeal to high-net-worth travelers through its golf courses and luxury resorts, vowing to promote the destination to more visitors.
