Black Ball Ferry Line Scales Back M.V. Coho’s June Schedule

by Mary

Black Ball Ferry Line announced a reduction in the M.V. Coho’s June sailing schedule, citing weakened cross-border travel demand. The company described the move as a difficult decision due to the current level of travel demand.

The Coho, which typically operates four daily trips between Victoria’s Inner Harbour and Port Angeles, Wash., will now maintain its usual three sailings per day until June 25. The full schedule with four daily sailings is now set to begin on June 26.

As part of the adjustments, the 9:30 p.m. sailing from Port Angeles (from June 12-25) and the 6:10 a.m. sailing from Victoria (from June 13-26) have been cancelled.

The company announced on social media that impacted passengers were notified by phone and email. Alternative sailings or full refunds were offered to affected travelers.

“We do not take this decision lightly, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” Black Ball said in its statement. “We are deeply grateful for your continued support and understanding as we navigate through these unprecedented times.”
