To celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week (May 4–10), the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will host a Travel and Tourism Day from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on May 9 at its Travel Information Center on US 75 north of Denison.
The event will feature TxDOT personnel and local tourism partners sharing information and activities with visitors to highlight the vital role travel and tourism play in the U.S. economy. Nationwide, the travel industry employs over 15 million Americans.
The Denison Travel Information Center is located at Exit 74 on US 75. Northbound travelers from Denison should exit right and follow the signs to the center. Southbound travelers crossing the Red River Bridge into Texas should take the right-lane exit immediately after the bridge.
TxDOT operates 12 travel information centers across Texas. These centers serve as important rest stops and provide travel assistance, destination information, free Wi-Fi, and vending services. Staffed by professional travel counselors, they help create a welcoming first impression of Texas while guiding travelers on routes, attractions, and current road conditions.
