Nepal Waives Visa Fees for Chinese Tourists Starting from May 1

by jingji14

On April 26, during the 18th China Outbound Travel & Tourism Market (COTTM) which just concluded, an official from the Public Relations Department of the Nepal Tourism Board announced exciting news. In a bid to showcase Nepal’s allure to more Chinese travelers, the Nepalese government has decided to waive visa fees for Chinese citizens traveling to Nepal for tourism purposes starting from May 1.

This policy adjustment means that Chinese tourists can save approximately 160 to 670 yuan in visa costs. The move is expected to significantly lower the travel threshold for Chinese visitors, making Nepal a more appealing destination. With this cost – saving measure, more Chinese tourists are likely to include Nepal in their travel plans, exploring its rich cultural heritage, such as the ancient temples in Kathmandu, and breathtaking natural landscapes like the Himalayas.

It not only benefits individual travelers but also strengthens the tourism cooperation between the two countries, bringing more vitality to Nepal’s tourism industry.
