The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism revealed that from January to May 2025, Beijing welcomed 175,000 Russian tourists, a remarkable 83.9% increase year – on – year. This figure makes Russian tourists the largest group among international visitors to Beijing during this period.
The growing popularity of Beijing among Russian travelers can be attributed to strengthened cultural and tourism cooperation between the two countries. To further enhance this cultural exchange, the “Moscow Cultural Festival” is scheduled to take place from June 12 to 15 on Wangfujing Street in Beijing. The festival will feature a diverse range of activities, including live cultural performances, where attendees can enjoy traditional Russian music and dance. There will also be a food – tasting area, allowing visitors to savor authentic Russian cuisine, as well as beauty – makeup experience zones, handicraft interactive sessions, and a photography exhibition displaying the charm of Moscow.
This festival not only provides a platform for Russians to showcase their culture but also deepens mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Beijing and Moscow. It is expected to attract more Russian tourists to explore Beijing’s rich historical and cultural heritage in the future.
