A Warsaw-based AI pioneer is quietly transforming football analytics while setting its sights on two ambitious goals: revolutionizing women’s soccer and recapturing Generation Z’s waning interest in sports. ReSpo.Vision, whose FIFA-certified technology powered last year’s Copa America, uses artificial intelligence to extract advanced performance metrics from just a single camera feed – eliminating the need for player wearables or multi-camera setups that can cost clubs hundreds of thousands.
The company’s co-founder Pawel Osterreicher reveals their system tracks elements invisible to human analysts – precise acceleration patterns, passing lane efficiency, dynamic heat maps and zones of control. This democratized approach already helped underdog Wisla Krakow lift the 2024 Polish Cup, proving smaller clubs can “do more with less” through smart technology adoption. Yet surprisingly, ReSpo.Vision is bypassing men’s mega-events like the 2026 World Cup to focus on the inaugural 2028 Women’s Club World Cup.
“Women’s sport grows at a much faster pace from its lower base,” Osterreicher told AFP, noting it presents untapped potential for engaging Gen Z audiences who demand instant excitement. Their upcoming 3D game reconstruction technology will let fans experience legendary goals from player perspectives – a direct response to young viewers’ dwindling attention spans. As traditional sports battle TikTok and Netflix for eyeballs, this AI-driven approach could represent football’s best chance at remaining relevant to the swipe-happy generation raised on digital immediacy.
