From June 10 – 19, 2024, Ling Yun, the Secretary of the Huangshan Municipal Party Committee, led a delegation on an intensive and event – filled visit to Switzerland, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
During the trip in Switzerland, the “Greater Huangshan” concept was introduced. Friendly cooperation memorandums were signed with Interlaken in Switzerland and Mezzano in Italy. The delegation also paid a visit to the China Tourism Office in Rome and held the “Greater Huangshan · Rome Promotion Conference” and the “Hello, Greater Huangshan” cultural and tourism themed promotion event. Additionally, a unique “Huangshan Tea Party” afternoon tea was hosted in London.
On the afternoon of June 17th (British time), the “Hello, Greater Huangshan” cultural and tourism themed promotion conference took place in Bristol. Li Liyan, the Minister – Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, Zhang Li, the Director of the China Tourism Office in London, and other distinguished guests attended. In her speech, Ling Yun introduced Huangshan as a city of beautiful landscapes, rich culture, happiness, and youth.
The heads of Huangshan Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and other departments signed a cooperation agreement with the Director of the West of England Tourism Bureau. A Qimen black tea performance at the event showed the charm of this famous tea, and the authorization of Qimen black tea brand stores further demonstrated the hospitality and beauty of Huangshan.
It is hoped that in the future, Huangshan can strengthen cooperation with the three European countries in various aspects such as heritage protection, tourism promotion, and economic and trade cooperation. This visit serves as an opportunity to connect Huangshan with more international resources, seeking support in hotel management, talent cultivation, and cultural dissemination, and helping Huangshan build itself into an international reception center.
