China Eastern Airlines recently made an exciting announcement: starting from June 24, 2025, it will launch a direct flight route from Xi’an to Istanbul. This marks the second direct international route to Turkey opened by China Eastern, following the “Shanghai – Istanbul” route.
The round – trip flight numbers of the new route are MU5025/MU5026, with one flight per week on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flight duration is 10 hours and 10 minutes. The outbound flight MU5025 departs from Terminal T5 of Xi’an Xianyang International Airport at 01:50 and arrives in Istanbul at 07:00 local time. The return flight MU5026 takes off from Istanbul Airport at 11:00 local time and arrives in Xi’an at 01:25 the next day.
This new route not only provides passengers with a more convenient travel option but also strengthens the connection between China’s northwest region and Turkey, as well as the surrounding European and Middle – Eastern countries. China is Turkey’s largest trading partner in Asia, and the opening of this route will significantly facilitate economic and trade exchanges, as well as cultural interactions between the regions.
With this new addition, China Eastern Airlines is further expanding its international flight network, contributing to enhanced global connectivity. Currently, the tickets for this route are already on sale, enabling travelers to plan their trips to the captivating city of Istanbul.
